Recent market availability has seen a decline in the manufacturing quality of factory-style crank sensors. Many aftermarket replacements fail out of the box, cause engine backfires, or lose synchronization and shut the engine down under load. While older gray GM, Delphi, and original blue-O-ring NTK sensors performed reliably, finding dependable replacements has become a significant challenge for tuners and builders.
